Hi. My name Is Thar Htet Aung, from Burma. I'm planning to buy a telescope from Amazon.com. This is the first time for me and I'm I'm worried I would have bought a fake telescope unfortunately. I'm still a student and an amateur astrologer trying to buy my first telescope. I don't know much about telescopes. But I've found one that it's price suitable for me. Here is the link of that telescope on Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/Celestron-21037-P ... +astronomy
Suggest me and give me advice.. which one's the best for me and the one I chose is real or not, or I should buy it. The amount I can afford is just between 200$ and 300$.
Help me buy my first Telescope.

Hi Thar Htet Aung.
From personal experience, Amazon is safe. Celestron too, (as far as my knowledge goes) is trustworthy.
There are a few sites I can suggest that you check (just in case you haven't done so): http://www.space.com/15693-telescopes-b ... guide.html
http://www.backyardastronomy.com/Backya ... copes.html
I do suggest that you ask further on such as the sites I've suggested before you commit.
Try, for example, typing the brand and model number into google, where you'll see what others are saying.
There will always be 'bargains' !
Best,
Admin.

Re: Help me buy my first Telescope.
shun the flimsy, semi-toy, "500 power!" department-store scopes that may have caught your eye. The telescope you want has two essentials: high-quality optics and a steady, smoothly working mount. You may also want the telescope to be nice and large, but don't forget portability and convenience. Your first telescope shouldn't be so awkward heavy that you can't tote it outdoors, set it up, and take it down reasonably easily.
